Making it Happen

Integration

Integrated approaches enable joined-up thinking and policy alignment, which is essential for a coordinated, effective response.

Principles:

  • Identify specific health issues and linkages with other issues within and across sectors.
  • Engage communities to incorporate local knowledge and increase project ownership and overall effectiveness.
  • Work across sectors, roles and responsibilities to achieve integrated health outcomes.
  • Align regulation, policy and program delivery, including, as necessary, mechanisms for integrated planning and policy.
